Texting is a fast way to get critical information, including polling locations and hours, to infrequent voters, and is also one of the most popular forms of voter outreach among Activate America volunteers. Political texts are read by 70 to 98% of recipients, and studies have shown that they are an effective method of getting out the vote for voters under age 50.

Volunteers send pre-scripted outbound texts, and draw from a series of prepared responses to voter replies. Activate America texting is done in fun Zoom events, with training provided and staff available to answer questions.
