The White House has announced the formation of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, overseen by Vice President Harris and experts in this field.
The new office will implement, accelerate, and expand upon key executive and legislative actions that have been taken to save lives
This is an important achievement for the gun safety movement and the fulfillment of an action first proposed by Giffords and the Center for American Progress in 2020.
President Biden signed the most significant gun violence prevention legislation in nearly 30 years with the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and has taken more meaningful executive action than any other President to end the trauma and tragedy of gun violence that so many Americans face.
According to GIffords, Biden-Harris is the strongest gun safety administration in history.
